Effects of great concepts and brilliant story telling.

So I'm in love with the Mass Effect series, not just cause they are great games but throw in great stories and add some cool sci fi concepts that you cant even get from our syfy channel. I took a picture of Yvonne Strahovski who modeled and voice acted for a character in mass effect 2, the characters name is Miranda Lawson. The idea behind the picture is that if Syfy had a series running for Mass Effect as a live action series what would it look like. Now I am just learning photoshop with out use of filters or actions. doing everything manually as much as I can. SO here it is with reference photos and final. Not my best work but I learned a few things from it, and that was the goal. "Miranda waiting for Shepard in the Afterlife club on the Omega station."

                   I messed with different lights in the background but it felt too crowded. So i removed the wall paper, added a neon light strip, fog/smoke. Hair was fun...., also changed the eye color a bit. Gave it a more colder feel for it being a space opera and added a personal grunge effect for some shaded areas. Hope you like, I actually feel happy for the most part. I got issues with it but hey its for fun so I'm not going to stress.

Project 2

So here's Number 2, I used a drawing from another artist and practiced coloring it with air brushing and other methods. To be honest I didn't enjoy the process so much, mostly due to currently not having my touch pad and pen. its okay, I feel I could do better.

Project 1 Finished.

Focus = Apple
Goal was to make it look as if it was the kind of apple I would have received in my brown bag as a kid, always seemed to get the scratched up and slightly disfigured apple.

Time is what I got, and I want to make use of it and try to learn as much as I can. So taking a lead from a friend I am going to start an experiment of personal exploration. My friend has taken up the challenge that most photographers do when learning their gear and learning which medium suits them best. My goal is not to just focus on one thing but several things that are apart of my life and blog about my experiences. So enough of that, lets get to the game plan.


Project 365- Each completed work will decrease this number by one, no more than one project a day. Project will be completed after 365 works are finished and uploaded.

Photoshop study - Each exploration will have one focus piece, I will share an explanation of what I did and what tools I used. Filters and actions will not be used in my works during this time frame.

Finishing my Japanese study, and using what I learn during my daily travels.

Writing - I will write a short story no more than 2 pages a week.

Video Editing - I will continue to develop a set of video editing skills and will produce an edited video once a month.

So Project 365 starts now. I know its a large undertaking but, its the way I learn best, so its either be or not to be.
